Do I need to be a beginner?
No. You don't need to be a beginner or an advanced speaker. Tell me your level and your goals when you book, and in your trial lesson we'll see how I can help you best.
What do I need for class?
A stable internet connection, and a computer or laptop (highly recommended) with a camera and microphone. Lessons are held on Google Meet, and I'll send you the link once we confirm your time.
Can my child join?
Yes. I've taught children since 2015, including 4-year-olds. Book a $7 trial lesson so your child can meet me, and tell me their age and goals when you book.
What if I'm shy?
That's completely fine. My lessons are relaxed and no-pressure, and we go at your pace. Many of my students started out nervous, and my students often say our classes feel like chatting with a friend.
How is this different from apps or big schools?
Lessons are one-to-one and built around your goals, not a fixed textbook. You speak a lot, I give you personal feedback, and I choose current articles, videos and podcasts that fit you. Because I teach independently, your payment goes directly to your lessons.
How does the trial lesson work?
The trial is a 25-minute lesson for $7. We talk about your goals and see whether my teaching style suits you before you buy a package. If you're referred by one of my current students, your trial is free.
How do I book?
Send me a message on the Contact page with your goals and the days and times that suit you. I reply within 24 hours, and we agree on a time together. Lesson slots are first come, first served.
What are your available hours?
I'm available Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 9:00 PM Taiwan and China time (8:30 AM – 10:00 PM in Japan and Korea). Weekend classes can be arranged too — just ask.
How do I pay?
You pay securely through PayPal before your first lesson. All prices are in US dollars and already include PayPal fees.
What if I need to cancel a class?
You can cancel for free at least 12 hours before class, and the class goes back into your package. See the Pricing page for the full cancellation policy.
