My Professional Timeline

• 2015 – 2018 · Building Strong Foundations

  Learning to teach every kind of learner

  I began my online teaching career in 2015 with one of the largest online English schools. During these early years, I taught students of all ages — from energetic 4-year-olds to professionals and retirees in their 80s. I also worked as a Senior Teacher and an Emergency Substitute Teacher, stepping into classes with little notice and adapting quickly to different students, learning styles, and lesson objectives.

  As my experience grew, I joined other online platforms, including RareJob and Bizmates, where I started working more closely with adult learners and business professionals. These years shaped my teaching philosophy and taught me how to explain English in a simple, practical, and encouraging way.

• 2018 – 2020 · Expanding Across Global Platforms

  Helping professionals communicate with confidence

  I continued teaching through multiple international platforms, including AmazingTalker and RareJob's Business English program. During this period, I worked with students from Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Portugal, and many other countries.

  Many of my students were engineers, managers, professors, doctors, researchers, flight attendants, and other working professionals who wanted to improve their communication for meetings, presentations, interviews, and everyday conversations. Teaching learners from different cultures gave me a deeper understanding of the unique challenges speakers of different languages face when learning English.

• 2020 – Present · Personalized Teaching & Curriculum Design

  Creating lessons that match every student's goals

  In 2020, I began accepting private students alongside my work with online schools. This gave me the freedom to move beyond standardized lesson materials and design lessons around each student's individual goals.

  Instead of relying on a single textbook, I carefully curate high-quality learning resources from trusted online sources, create my own IELTS speaking practice activities, and develop customized job interview preparation lessons tailored to each student's profession, experience, and career goals.

  Whether a student is preparing for an important interview, improving workplace communication, studying for IELTS, or simply becoming a more confident English speaker, every lesson is designed to be practical, engaging, and directly relevant to real-life situations.

Real-World Business Experience

My professional experience extends beyond the classroom, giving me firsthand insight into the communication skills expected in international workplaces.

I worked as a Property Specialist at Ayala Land Premier, widely regarded as the Philippines' most prestigious luxury real estate brand, where I developed strong client communication and presentation skills.

I later joined JPMorgan Chase, one of the largest American financial institutions, as an Account Specialist, assisting customers with banking services while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and customer care.

In 2022, I also worked as a Support Advocate at Wonolo, an American workforce platform that connects businesses with flexible workers. As the primary liaison between businesses and gig workers, I resolved inquiries through email and live chat, strengthened customer relationships, and handled a wide variety of communication scenarios with empathy and efficiency.

These experiences have given me a deeper understanding of professional communication in international companies. Today, I bring those real-world insights into my English classes, helping students communicate naturally and confidently in interviews, meetings, customer interactions, and everyday workplace situations.

Many students ask why English is so prevalent in the Philippines. My teaching is backed by a deep-rooted historical connection to the language.

Because of this history, English is not an "alien" language to me; it is my second language. I grew up in a system where textbooks, lectures, and government proceedings were all in English.
